One of Ikaria’s most beautiful hikes, Halari Gorge takes you through a fairytale-like landscape of small waterfalls, natural rock pools, and dense vegetation. Pro Tip: Bring a swimsuit—the natural pools along the way are perfect for a cool-down.


2. Evdilos - Drotsoulas - Akamatra - Evdilos.

Starting after Kerame near Evdilso, this hike takes you through forests of cypress and platanus trees.  Connecting two remote mountain villages and offers a chance to experience history through nature and stone ruins. Pro Tip: In Akamatra, you can find a mini-market open during the morning and afternoon hours and the cafes are generally open during July and August.


3. Drakano Fortress & Faros Beach – History & Coastline Combined

This easy trail leads you to Drakano Fortress, a 4th-century BC watchtower built to protect the island from pirates. From there, you can continue towards Faros Beach, one of the longest and most beautiful beaches on the island, perfect for a relaxing swim.

Pro Tip: Visit in the late afternoon to catch a magical sunset over the fortress and the Aegean Sea.



4. Therma - Nealia Beach

  Distance: ~7 km

  Duration: ~ 3 h

Highlights: Ruins of Ancient Thermal Spas - View of Fournoi - Samos and the Aegean Sea.

The trail starts from Therma to Nealia or vice versa and back. One of the few trails that goes along the coastline closer to the sea level. It leads you to a beautiful remote beach where you can have a clay bath.

Pro Tip: Start from Therma since it' s easier to approach by car and at the end of the excursion chill at the hot springs. Bring water and sunscreen.
